Our all-time favourite season has landed. Whether for a vacation or staycation, the swimwear collections have landed and it’s time to choose your beachwear (not to mention the must-have pieces you’ll be styling it with). Read on for the sunshine and sunset style you need to know about now.

Whether you’re headed for the bustling Colombo, Sri Lanka, exploring Iceland’s striking Reykjavik, fleeing to a Full Moon Party in Thailand, or simply shopping for summer at home, it’s the year for new adventures… with your wardrobe that is.

One of the trends that caught our eye at EyeFitU is ‘deep summer’: tropic inspired holiday pieces that present solarised filtered tropical prints, glamorous silhouettes and dark, moody colour patterns. Whether seen on a 90s silhouette bikini or a mini dress perfect for hazy summer evenings, the look captures sci-fi sophistication.

On the other side of the spectrum, whimsical gingham prevails. Thanks to Oscar de la Renta, Diane von Furstenberg, Michael Kors and Bottega Veneta celebrating gingham on the SS15 catwalks, our SS16 looks continue to be dominated by the commercial favourite. The high-summer print gets a SS16 update via resized scales, colour variations and animated patchworks. Admire fashion editorials and street looks that showcase gingham through spirited styling – and then try out the style for size on EyeFitU.

This season, the more and more popular Coachella music festival has lent its sunny desert setting to inspire beachside looks aplenty. As with most festivals, the bohemian trend sweeps the crowd – think woodblock paisley prints, soft cheesecloths in a neutral colour palette and gentle pops of pink. Spend your days on the beach and your nights at the pool party (if you pack wisely, there’s lots of outfit crossover from sunbathing to dancing the night away). You can enjoy the summery romance of this trend or opt for a full-blown hippie influence.

Holiday Mode On!

Get tapping EyeFitU to see what’s trending in your size. When it comes to materials, delicate embellished fabrics sit with heavy crochet and appliqué for contrast. For a beach bar cover-up, choose between traditional boho paisleys on soft, fine cotton kimonos, or lace insert maxi dresses. In fact, it’s the season to invest in a boho cover-up that’s light enough to squeeze into the smallest suitcase. Check out 1970s style kaftans that return with wide bell sleeves. With a low plunging V neckline, lace inserts or bold graphic embroidery, you’ll be sure to turn heads on your summer trip. Pack your bags and head to Mykonos, the top pick of fashion blogger’s this year. Boho chic is the style of choice in Ibiza this season too – Ocean Beach club, we’re ready!
Tropical Swimwear for your Summer!

If boho isn’t your thing, try an athletic bandeau bikini in a solid cognac shade with a contrast black statement lace-up or sports influenced chunky zip. Mix up, look sharp! EyeFitU favourite, ASOS, tempt us with cut-out or plunge neck one-pieces whether you’re partial to print or bold in block colour. Black and white colour combinations are key (as ever) but experiment with soft pop colours for freshness. The appliqué crop is also having a moment, be it by the pool or inside a festival tent, and has been given a provocative update using colourful embroidery on nude mesh. For sporty appeal, frame this shape with flat elastic.

Once you’ve shopped sunshine style in your size on EyeFitU, packing for that dream getaway is easier than you think. Maximise your poolside pieces with cover-ups such as the lace maxi or throwback kaftan to take your look from sunny day to unforgettable night. A girly gingham bikini looks on point when paired with denim cut-off shorts, whilst a tropical leaf printed two-piece makes a bold statement under an ivory cheesecloth dress. So get shopping in your size, grab your passport, and make the most of that sunshine. Oh, and don’t forget your statement sunglasses.

Sun’s out, swimwear’s out!
